Happy New Year 2023

I’m so ready to close out 2022. I don’t know about you, but this year has had it’s ups and downs.

I am not one to make New Year’s Resolutions , however in 2023 I’ve decided to change things up.

I’m starting a new chapter in my life for 2023. I’ve decided to make a vision board. Oh, sure I’ve made them in the past but I didn’t apply myself to keep it up. Let’s face it, I got lazy!

What is a vision board?

Psychology Today has a great article by Tchiki Davis, Ph.D. titled; What is A Vision Board And Why Make One? Using this as a guide you can make a vision board that suits your needs, wants and desires.

Here are a few boards to look at and get an idea for your own.

Once I have mine started and looking great, I’ll share it with all of you.

I’ve added the link to one of my favorite New Year’s songs.

Dana Krall, What Are You Doing New Years Eve

I wish you all the joy, happiness and health in the new year.

Merry Christmas

Dear Readers,

I want to say Thank You so much for hanging in there with me throughout all these years.

When I started this blog, it was because I thought it would get me “recognized” as a serious writer, blogger, all around information giver. It’s not any of these things.

Seriously, these past months have been hard for me to even sit down and write a blog post, much less the sequel to the book I wrote called Terror In The North Tower.

Between being the caregiver to my husband and other family matters going on, I feel that I’ve neglected all of you.

This has never been my intention!

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.

Monday Motivation Series -Finale

Today marks the end of my five motivation series. Please leave me a comment on whether or not you’ve found any value in this series.

The one quote that keeps my going every day says; “When God pushes you to the edge of difficulty trust him fully because two things can happen either He’ll catch you when you fall, or teach you how to fly.”

The last few years have been a challenge for me, both personally and professionally. I’ve had a few jobs working for different companies. The last two, I thought were going to be my last ones until I retired. God has a quirky sense of humor.

These last few years are not what I had planned for my life. Trying to find anything positive from it all gets hard.

Trying to break out into freelance work has been difficult for me. Either I haven’t found the right niche, or I lack the experience that certain companies want.

Sometimes I feel like giving up on my dreams, other times I push myself to keep trying. One day. One day it will happen for me.

May you have all your dreams come true and stay MOTIVATED to keep moving forward .

Monday Motivation Series

Welcome to my Monday Motivation series part four.

While doing some research for today’s blog post, I came across a few interesting ones which pose the argument of not motivating others.

Sounds a bit harsh to me. That was until I started to read a few of them. One article that stood out to me is written by Dr. Carolyn Morgan, Carol Morgan has a Ph.D. in communication and is a professor at Wright State University. Her insight intrigued my interest in researching this topic further.

In this article, You Can’t Motivate Other People So Don’t Even Try!
She begins by pointing out that inspiring others is a good thing, however, some people can’t or don’t want to be inspired, motivated, or encouraged period!

If motivating people implies action and inspiring implies that you have moved them mentally or emotionally in some way. Then which one is better?

Changing the world around us can be done one small step at a time. Is it worth it?

I hope you will read Dr. Carolyn Morgan’s article and give some feedback to both myself and her.

Monday Motivation Series

Welcome to Part Three of my Monday Motivation Series.

How have you liked or disliked it so far? I would love your feedback, so please leave me a star or comment.

Today I wanted to take you back to an article I wrote a few years ago titled Move That Mountain That Is In Front Of You. There’s one portion that talks about what it takes to keep motivated.

“We must take the time to prepare our minds for success. Be willing to attend training, conventions, webinars, podcasts, skyping, and so forth.
Developing the skills necessary to become successful doesn’t happen overnight”.

Finding the time to develop the necessary skills can feel overwhelming in itself. Working a full-time or part-time job, raising a family, appointments, etc, hardly leaves a person time to do anything for themselves.

I’ve found that I must make the time to keep my interest up with things to motivate myself.

Using a motivational planner might aid with keeping track of projects, time management and more.

Amazon Motivational Planner is a good tool to use. They have many to choose from.

I’m not perfect and I’ve let myself down in this area to keep myself motivated. I promise from here on out to do better and make a commitment to do one activity a day to move into gaining success.

Monday Motivation

Welcome to Monday!

Part two of my Monday Motivation Series. Today I want to share with you some motivational quotes that I found on Goodreads.com.

“Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine”. Roy T. Bennett,Β The Light in the Heart

“Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart”. Roy T. Bennett,Β The Light in the Heart

This is one of my favorites. Probably because we all go through the “bullshit” to gain success and stay at the top of our game.

“The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullshit story you keep telling yourself as to why you can’t achieve it”. Jordan Belfort

I believe that a person’s mindset contributes to how successful they become.

What motivates you to keep moving forward?

Please leave a comment.

Monday Motivation

Welcome to my new series named, Monday Motivation.

Mondays should be all about motivating ourselves for having a positive outlook and outcome for the week.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines the word Motivation as 1. the act or process of motivating. 2. a motivating force, stimulus, or influenceINCENTIVEDRIVE.

In one of my previous blog posts titled Move That Mountain, I talk about the things we do today to change negative habits that will be reflected in our attitudes, speech, postures, and business.

How do you prepare yourself for the day? Are you mentally pumping yourself up?

My goal in writing this series will be to explore new ways of helping to boost your morale and mine. Finding alternative ways to change negative mindsets over to positive ones.

Please join me in this journey for the next few weeks.
